Looking back, I’ve already spent more than 10 years coaching friends and family. In July 2005, I made it official and received my life coaching certification from Martha Beck (www.MarthaBeck.com). The coaching style is straight-forward, fun, highly interactive, and results-oriented—a perfect fit for people motivated to make positive changes in their life.
I often say that I’m a “Jill of all trades and a master of none” and that’s not quite true. I just have lots of interests and have received certifications in many diverse disciplines. My undergraduate degree, from Arizona State Univeristy, is in meteorology and geography, and while I’ve never worked in the field, I still have an intense interest in the weather (especially clouds—useless, I know, yet I can’t help it). Several years later, I earned an MBA from Phillips University in Oklahoma. I’ve used this degree in many different ways. I’ve owned a jewelry manufacturing business with my dad, handcrafting 24K solid gold jewelry. A few years after we started the business—in 1995—I earned my Graduate Gemologist diploma, which was helpful in rounding out my knowledge of colored gemstones and diamonds. I’ve also used my business background as a marketing consultant with the Small Business Administration mentoring other small business owners interested in expanding their businesses.
Even while the past decade has been primarily focused on business and coaching, I’ve found time to study other areas of interest to me. I’m a certified Vedic astrologer, and a certified graphologist. I’m a remote viewer, actively involved in several remote viewing groups. I also volunteer a considerable amount of time to another area I'm passionate about: mediation. I mediate cases in my local Small Claims Court, and various types of cases through the Dispute Resolution Center in Everett, Washington.
When I’m not working or volunteering, I probably have my nose buried in a book (I’m a self-confessed bibliophile), or I’m flying, traveling with my husband, hiking, listening to Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony (which I’m crazy about), baking the World’s Greatest Chocolate Chip Cookies, or caring for my eclectic brood of houseplants (it’s definitely an obsession). And most recently: I’m a neophyte vegetable gardener. To round out my life, I’ve been married for 23 joyful years to my husband, Paul. We met at Arizona State University when we were students and since then lived through many extraordinary times together. |
